Volunteering – A Valuable Experience

Volunteering is not just all about giving back and making a difference (although those are major motivators to volunteering). It’s also a great activity to expand your network, increase your skills and qualifications as a leader and earn professional development units (PDUs) toward maintaining your PMI credentials.

Whether your volunteer role will be on the local level – assisting at a chapter event, for example – or working on a global team, you will reap the benefits of volunteering.

Interested in finding out more? Contact any Board Member or create a profile of yourself on PMI’s Volunteer Relationship Management System (VRMS) and search for chapter volunteer opportunities that match your interests and experience level.

An additional benefit of volunteering is the ability to access content on PMI Learn, the e-learning environment for PMI’s volunteer leaders. PMI Learn helps you engage in volunteer-specific web-based roles, participate in skill-specific learning modules and access leadership development content.

Break away from your project and reap the personal and professional rewards that come when you get involved.
