Dissertation Research Information and Survey Links

The members and guests of  the PMI Quad City Area Chapter have been invited to help out two doctoral candidates with their dissertation research, related to project management and to promote the project management profession. I have included the information and survey links for you below.

Bryan Hosford

I'm a Ph.D. Student finishing my dissertation and currently collecting data for my research on IT project management. I'm a member of the Cedar Rapids chapter, but need to diversify the data I'm collecting. My research is looking to identify technical background as a critical success factor for project managers that manage IT projects.

John P Stinnett, PMP

“A quantitative study examining the obstacles of achieving professional certification and the best practices for overcoming them”

I became concerned with the quantity of PMP candidates who experienced difficulty in keeping up their studies and actually getting their certification.  Now, as a Doctoral Student at Syracuse University, I’m hoping to help in a very practical way.  The focus of my research is what types of obstacles PMP students encounter along their journey to certification, as well as what might be the best practices to overcome these obstacles and get through to earning their PMP.

Thank you for contributing to research that will further our understanding about Professional Certification.

 Thank You
