President's Report

New Director of Certifications
We are very excited to have Betsy Green join us as our new Director of Certifications. Please welcome Betsy Green.

Betsy Green is a PMP with nearly 20 years of project management experience. Betsy’s love of project management is matched by her enthusiasm for training and professional development, making her an excellent match for our Director of Certifications position. For a past employer, she designed, developed, and delivered a Project Management Boot Camp, using everything from tests to games to help participants learn proper PM methodology, terminology, and tools. Betsy is an IT Project Manager at Royal Neighbors of America and a graduate of Washington and Lee University.

In her spare time, Betsy enjoys sewing, knitting, and crochet. She volunteers at Quad City Animal Welfare Center and recently served as the Publicity Chair for the Quad Cities Hash House Harriers Red Dress Run. Betsy loves exploring the outdoors with her 12 year old son Jack and developing the perfect ice cream flavor with her partner, Shawn. She also studies tae kwon do and plans to earn her black belt within the next year.

Betsy is looking forward to working with the Quad Cities PMI chapter to support those earning their PMPs and to help current PMPs to maintain their certifications.

The study group meets every Wednesday night at 7:00pm.  Please see the website for specific information and location.

Special Olympics Bowling Event and Fundraiser, July 20th.
Please join us as a volunteer, bowler or spectator.  John Menard has been working hard on organizing our annual event.  It is a lot of fun and it supports a great cause.  If you have not been involved in a Special Olympics event before it is a fanastic opportunity and a great time. Last year we doubled our donation to the Special Olympics of IA and IL and hope to continue that tradition. John will accept cash donations as well as donations for our silent auction.  Your tax deductable contribution may be mailed to:  ATTN:  John Menard, 5 Lakeside Circle, Davenport, IA  52807.

August Network Event at Great River Brewery - Invite Colleagues and Frieds
Julius DeFauw has been busily organizing the Chapter's first Big Networking Event.  Falbo Brothers Pizza will provide free pizza with a $5 donation to Special Olympics. We encourage everyone to invite colleagues and friends who may be interested in learning more about the PMI Quad City Area Chapter and networking with our fascinating members, to come out and join us at the Great River Brewery August 1st.
